HEY BUDDY. WHAT TIME IS IT?

Ecclesiastes 3: 9 – 17

There is an old German saying, “God's time is the best time.”
I don't think that there is anyone among us that would argue that philosophy, we all accept it as truth. If we think that highly of God and His timing, Why do we ignore what He has for us, only to follow what we think is best?
Solomon has kind of an attitude in this book. He has been living a life of carnality and appears to care less for the spiritual aspects of life.

10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men.
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.
13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God.
16 And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice— wickedness was there.

Doesn't seem to be a happy camper does he.
If we are honest with ourselves, I think that we would admit to having the same feelings that Solomon had. We get into seasons of our lives when we can see only desperation. Oh yeah, we will cry out to God in prayer for help, but we really don't mean it. We are just going to take back what we have given God and try to do it our way and in our time. That never really works out well. We now have feelings of regret and guilt then we sincerely pray to God for forgiveness.
But Solomon also shows us the other side of life.

14 I know that everything God does will endure for ever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account.
17 I thought in my heart, "God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed."

I'm not sure if I got this one right, but I'm trying here people.
As I said, Solomon has an attitude, throughout the entire book of Ecclesiastes. Even though he shows his feelings of the world, he also gives us glimpses of the spiritual life.
The worldly life is easy to live, and, truth be told, it can seem to be a happy life, but, it yields us nothing.
Following God is not an easy life, yet it offers us everything.
We have the opportunity see both sides of the coin, and we get to choose. Forgetting that there is a season for every purpose we will go through, we wimp out and take what appears to be the easy way.
We have to be vigilant in our beliefs and make the right choice.
